Salary: $90,000-120,000 Yearly
Position: Direct Hire

What is this?
Global company is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist for their US Operations. These operations include our Hull Rail, Truck & Pipeline Terminal (Hull, Texas), Oklahoma Liquids Terminal (Tulsa, Oklahoma), and future Wildhorse Terminal (Cushing, Oklahoma). This exciting new role will be a core member of the functional health and safety team and drive delivery of the Health & Safety (H&S) strategy for the US Operations.

What does my day look like?
• Support the development of and implement the health and safety program under the company’s Operational Excellence Management System
• Advise and mentor operations and maintenance teams in meeting company and H&S regulatory requirements including OSHA
• Participate in facility risk assessments and safety meetings
• Communicate HSE information through formal training, meetings and shared learnings from events
• Support process safety management (PSM). Participate in process hazard analysis activities, encourage the use of MoC and reporting of PSM related events
• Support the delivery of corporate and facility goals
• Plan and lead regular audits, inspections and task observations to ensure all workers conduct activities in accordance with practices and procedures
• Actively participate in the selection, approval and monitoring of contractors to ensure their compliance with Contractor Safety Management Programs
• Act as the subject matter expert for event management and incident investigations. Lead high risk investigations
• Report safety performance and identify opportunities to continuously improve.
• Maintain competency management and drive compliance
• Support emergency response plan and exercises and provide immediate response to emergencies at all sites. •
• Support turnarounds and project work.

What does the perfect candidate look like?
• 5-10 years’ experience in refining, petro-chemical, rail and truck terminal operations, or other related industry
• 5 years’ experience in health and safety
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, or working towards obtaining
• Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and standards including OSHA, DOT, PHMSA, EPA, MSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, ANSI, ISO and Workers Compensation
• Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Industrial Hygiene/Safety Management or related Natural Sciences from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A proven ability to develop relationships and become an effective business partner
• Strong organization, coaching, communication and interpersonal skills
• A demonstrated desire for personal growth
• Self-motivated team player with a strong commitment to improving Health and Safety Performance
• Must have legal authorization to work in the USA on a fulltime basis.

What will the physical requirements be?
Physical requirements for positions include: arm and hand steadiness and finger dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; may be subject to walking, standing, sitting, and reaching; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks.
