Title: Bilingual Forensic Interviewer Salary: $40,000-$50,000/YR Position: Direct Hire Local not for profit is seeking a Bilingual Forensic Interviewer who is responsible for conducting unbiased, neutral, non-leading, culturally sensitive fact finding forensic interviews with children who have experience alleged abuse or are witnesses to alleged abuse or violence. The Bilingual Forensic Interviewer conducts pre-staffing conference with investigators, participates in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) staffing and training, and write summaries for interview that result in a disclosure. This position is managed by the Sr. Forensic Interviewer, and reports to the CEO.

As a Bilingual Forensic Interviewer, a typical day for you might include the following: • Conducting forensic interviews with children referred by law enforcement or child welfare. • Providing services to Spanish only speaking children and families. • Writing interview summaries as required and maintaining records as necessary. • Remaining up to date on current research in the field of forensic child interviewing. • Pursuing ongoing training and educational opportunities. • Participating in peer reviews with other forensic interviewers to observe the work of others and give/receive constructive criticism. • Scheduling interviews for law enforcement or DHS who have an open investigation • Maintaining working knowledge of accreditation standards of National Children’s Alliance, DA’s Task Force Protocol, and applicable laws as needed.
This job might be for you if: • Have a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or related field. • You can complete Forensic Interviewer training and successfully complete written exam. • Can be available to be on call in rotation. • Can remain up to date on research for forensic interviewing. • Possess working knowledge of law enforcement and child welfare systems. • Are proficient in computer applications. • Can pass a nationwide background check.

While performing the duties of this job: You may be constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone, type and operate computer and mouse. You also may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
