Title: Network Engineer
Salary: $70,000-$80,000/YR
Position: Direct Hire
Local Tulsa Company is seeking a Network Engineer who will be responsible for the design,
continuous improvement, and management of core network equipment and key network
interconnects. The Network Engineer will work closely with other departments to achieve
operational goals, as well as coordinate and lead service design, transition, operation, and
continual service improvement stages of service management as it applies to the core
network. This person will contribute to and maintain network standards and
documentation.

As a Network Engineer, a typical day for you might include the following:
• Network capacity planning, performance tuning, troubleshooting and monitoring ensuring system availability, scalability and general health.
• Design, engineer and implement scalable physical and logical network solutions, to include network security and monitoring systems (Firewall, SBC, traffic monitoring, etc.)
• Working with Network Administrators to create change configurations and oversee the implementation of these changes within maintenance windows.
• Create and maintain up to date documentation of the network, detailing configuration and topology.
• Research, develop and deploy numerous technologies and network topologies to evolve and scale our network.
• Provision new circuits for Internet, WAN, MAN, and MPLS including working closely with other service providers.
• Work closely with the internal network team and vendors to develop new solutions and influence the future of networking within the company, as well as work closely with internal teams and our customers to design, maintain, monitor, and implement custom solutions meeting their needs.
• Provide or obtain subject matter expertise for service design and operation efforts in interactions with Service Desk, Central Office, and Systems.
• Work with project teams under the supervision of the project manager and perform other related duties as assigned by management.

This job might be for you if:
• Have a 4-year College degree in a technology related field, or combined relevant certifications, experience, and/or training.
• Have 4+ years experience in telecommunications or IP networks.
• You are proficient in the use of Windows desktop operating systems and productivity applications.
• You are proficient with network configuration, diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills (CCNA level or above).
• Can work with common network and network management protocols.
• Have the ability to solve complex network problems independently, quickly, and completely.
• You are able communicate clearly and effectively with customers, peers, supervisor, and other department members through verbal and non-verbal communication.
• You possess documentation and diagram skills.
• You are able to type 55+ WPM.


The company will expect you to:
• Maintain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
• Participate in on-call rotation with other department members and respond to alarm notifications from monitoring system.
• Switch between tasks frequently and be able to work under pressure and work professionally with users that may be difficult.



While performing the duties of this job:
You may be constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone, type and operate computer and mouse. You also may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
