Local Ophthalmology Group is looking to bring on a quality candidate for a Medical Front office specialist position. The Medical Front Office Specialist is expected to be reliable and will be handling the day in and day out activities.

As a Medical Office Specialist, a typical day for you might include the following:

  • Complete all aspects of patient relations such as answering phones, greeting patients, collecting any co-pays, scheduling, coordinating, and rescheduling any patient appointments
  • Completing insurance verifications for different carriers.
  • Conducting pre-certification authorizations with insurance.
  • Complete patient check in and check out procedures
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Manage multiple tasks
  • Responsible, dependable and professional

This job might be for you if:

  • Have a minimum of 2-5 years of patient service experience in a health care organization.
  • Possess knowledge of business office procedures.
  • Have proficient knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information in computer.
  • Have the ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Possess the ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions.

  • Have the ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with any and all objectives without supervision.

While performing the duties of this job:

You may be constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone, type and operate computer and mouse. You also may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
