Local Tulsa Retirement Home is looking to bring on a quality candidate for a Medical Office Specialist position. The Medical Office Specialist is expected to be reliable and will be handling the day in and day out activities.

As a Medical Office Specialist, a typical day for you might include the following:
• Completing insurance verifications for different carriers.
• Conducting pre-certification authorizations with insurance.
• Complete all aspects of patient relations such as calls, greeting patients, collecting any co-pays, scheduling, coordinating, and rescheduling any patient appointments.
• Orders business forms and supplies, as well as performing any other related work as required.
• Completes data entry of all new patients into EMR
• Entry of all physicians billing codes into the EMR billing system
• Assists with AR review by payers
• Complete insurance contract applications
• Maintains strictest confidentiality.

This job might be for you if:
• Have a minimum of 2-5 years of patient service experience in a health care organization.
• Possess knowledge of business office procedures.
• Have proficient knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information in computer.
• Have the ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Possess the ability to prepare records in accordance with detailed instructions.

While performing the duties of this job:
You may be constantly required to sit and use hands to operate telephone, type and operate computer and mouse. You also may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
